Load Tracking Consistency

Best practices to ensure a driver is consistently tracking

2 minute to read

Trucker Tools will measure load tracking compliance and consistency. Compliance is the percentage of loads you create tracks for that we receive at least one location ping. How we measure tracking consistency and best practices to achieve consistency are detailed below.

1 How is Consistency Measured

In order for a load to be considered consistent, we must receive a location ping at every geofence, at least one location ping every hour, and one ping every 60 miles.

2 How to Check Consistency Score

The stats page can be accessed from the main page of the Load Tracking portal. Every customer is different but customers should see between 45-60% consistency.

3 Common Causes for Inconsistency

The main cause for inconsistency is a driver missing one of the geofences because the load track was started or sent too late, or the track was ended too early by the driver.

4 Adjusting/Customizing a Geofence

The default geofence is set to 2 miles. You can contact our support team to make changes to the default. You are also able to customize geofences in our portal.

5 Exception Management

Tracking interruptions are sent as a status, an email, and a problem banner in the portal. The main cause of interruptions is a driver not setting their location to always allow.

6 Set Automated Text Messages

We recommend setting a few automated text messages to be sent as reminder messages to the driver to start the track AND to set location settings to always allow.
