Use Qualification Settings templates for load posting and truck searches
Qualification Settings Templates let you save and reuse different qualification criteria when posting loads to the DAT Load Board. Instead of updating qualification settings each time you post a load, you can create multiple templates for different compliance needs and apply the appropriate one during load posting.
Templates help ensure consistent qualification settings across your workflows while making it easy to switch between different requirements.
Create a template
Admins can create, edit, and delete account-wide templates. Non-admins can view available templates and apply them when posting loads.
Open Qualification Settings.
Select Get Started(if no templates exist) or create a new template.
Enter a template name (character limit is 50).
Configure the qualification settings you want to save.
Safety Rating Exclusions:
- Exclude carriers with a Conditional safety rating
- Exclude carriers with an Unsatisfactory safety rating
Authority Filters:
- Set a minimum age of authority (e.g., 90 days, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years)
Insurance:
- Set a minimum Auto liability (BIPD): Bodily Injury and Property Damage.
- Set a minimum Cargo insurance: Coverage for the goods being hauled.
ELD Integration:
- Require carriers to have ELD (Electronic Logging Devices) integration.
- (Optional) Add a note to describe when the template should be used (character limit is 120 characters).
- Save the template.
Your template is now available for future load posts, and truck searches.
Manage your templates
The Qualification Settings page displays all templates available to your account. For each template, you can view:
Template name
Last modified date
Template note
Name and location of the user who last modified the template
To edit a template, hover over the template row and select the Edit icon.
To delete a template, hover over the template you want to remove, select the Delete icon, and confirm the deletion.
Changes are available immediately for future load posts.
Apply a template when posting a load
Begin creating a shipment post.
In the Qualification Settings section, open the template selector.
Choose the template you want to apply. Select the >(expand) icon next to a template, to verify the settings before applying a template.
Continue posting your load.
The selected template's qualification settings will be used for that load post.
While posting a load, admins can navigate directly to Qualification Settings from the template selector to update existing templates without manually finding the settings page.
Carriers who meet the requirements will see the unredacted post; others will see a redacted version.
Apply a template when searching for trucks
When viewing truck search results, choose the template you want to apply. Select the > (expand) icon next to a template, to verify the settings before applying a template.
Understanding the Icons
- A green checkmark indicates that the carrier meets the criteria selected
- A red X indicates that the carrier does not meet the criteria selected
- A dash will indicate that we do not have enough data on the carrier to make a selection
Note: The selections you make in Qualification Settings will persist across all of the searches you currently have running and will be immediately applied to them.
Rules & Exceptions:
If your Account Admin (with Full, Corporate Full, or Corporate Change Authority) has not set up Qualification Settings, the option to apply them will not be available when posting a shipment. In this case, all carriers will see the full, unredacted load post.
When posting a shipment, the user can toggle the “ Apply Qualification Settings” on or off.
When posting a shipment to a Private Network, Qualification Settings are automatically disabled. All carriers in the Private Network see the full posting.
Qualification Settings will apply automatically to all shipments posted via API or in a bulk post when Qualification Settings are set, except for Private Network Shipments.
When editing an existing shipment, users can toggle the “ Apply Qualification Settings” on or off at any time.
