Trendlines

Trendlines are a technical analysis tool used by traders to help determine the direction of a market or an asset. They are drawn on price charts to show the general trajectory of the price over time and can be upward (bullish), downward (bearish), or horizontal (neutral).

Types of Trendlines

  1. Upward Trendlines: These are drawn by connecting the lows in a price chart. An upward trendline indicates that the market is experiencing rising prices.
  2. Downward Trendlines: Drawn by connecting the highs, these lines indicate decreasing prices in the market.
  3. Horizontal Trendlines: These occur when a market is trading within a range, indicating that prices are not trending up or down.
