The eManifest program helps streamline Customs clearance by allowing shipment details to be assessed and approved by Customs officials in advance.

What is ACE/ACI?

In Canada, the eManifest system is referred to as the ACI manifest (Advanced Commercial Information) program, while in the US it is called the ACE manifest (Automated Commercial Environment) program. In order to cross the border, carriers are required to have a SCAC or carrier code. A SCAC (Standard Carrier Alpha Code) is a code used to identify carriers to the U.S. Customs, while a carrier code is its counterpart for the Canada Border Services. A carrier must have a valid code to submit an eManifest for cross-border shipments.
